Cefalù

With its exceptional beach and wonderful town centre, Cefalù is a perfect holiday town.

As one of Sicily's most popular towns, it does get fairly busy, but visiting is definitely worthwhile.

The cathedral is wonderful, the beach a delight and the town centre is fun to walk around, enjoying all the shops, bars and charming atmosphere that you will find.

Cefalù Castle

Little remains of this ancient castle, but it is an amazing experience to visit its site, and imagine the imposing Norman fortress which was once there.

Royal Favour

It is said that Cefalu's cathedral was founded by King Roger II after he was shipwrecked in this town. He was so grateful that he survived the storm that Cefalù was his favourite town in Sicily.

Greek Name

Although founded by the Carthaginians, Cefalù's name comes from a Greek word meaning “head” or “headland”, in reference to its location.
